Back in June 2017 the nation watched as the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire unfolded. First responders and firefighters were on the scene within minutes and worked tirelessly throughout the night, and the following days, to save whomever they could. The conditions in the tower during this time were perilous and the emergency services had a near impossible task.
We are proud to say that one of our Member Centres, the Swanley Therapy Centre, was able to offer support in the form of oxygen treatment. They ran sessions in addition to their usual schedule in order to accommodate the firefighters, to aid with the physical recovery from such a gruelling effort.
14 firefighters from fire watches local to the Centre, including F22 Whitechapel and F24 Shoreditch fire stations, received oxygen treatment at the Centre. This was brought about through a collaboration between the Centre and the UK branch of the charity Tunnel2towers.
